The Penguin 1 HP High Efficiency (HE) Water Chiller is designed with a titanium heat exchanger, ensuring that copper does not come into contact with the water. This design is crucial for preventing the accumulation of toxic levels of copper in water, especially in long-duration uses, making it ideal for reef aquarium setups.

The digital controller plays a vital role in maintaining the desired water temperature. It continuously monitors the temperature of the incoming water, requiring a constant water flow for accurate readings. If the water temperature exceeds the set point, the controller activates the compressor and fan to cool the water down. Once the target temperature is achieved, it deactivates the compressor and fan.

This is one of the HE models that boast a larger titanium coil compared to the standard models, enhancing cooling efficiency by increasing both the contact surface area and time without raising power consumption. Despite using the same compressor, the HE model achieves greater cooling efficiency with no additional power requirement.
